2018 Theme: PASSION

Pastors Jeff Denton & Stephen Bramer introduced the Waterbrook Bible Fellowship Theme for 2018 at worship services on Sunday, January 7th. The theme, PASSION, calls for a barely contained excitement and enthusiasm about a relationship with the Lord. A person of PASSION for God has a barely controllable love for God and desire to follow His path.

The most common phrase in scripture that points toward this concept is “with all your [my] heart”. This includes when Jesus was asked about the greatest commands and replies by quoting from Deuteronomy 6:5, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.”  Pastor Jeff says this means we should love God with ALL of the ALL that we are. The pastors continued the explanation of the PASSION theme with passages including 1 Samuel 7:1-4 and Deuteronomy 4:1-29. Verse 29 in Deuteronomy 4 encourages a start to following the Lord with Passion starting from where you are right now. Don’t use past failures as an excuse; but engage a search for God with all your heart from this current moment.

This theme will continue to be explained in January 2018 and throughout the year in exegetical series that will further expand on developing and living a spiritual life of appropriate PASSION.
