Back to School Sunday – August 24

Back To School Vinson 2014 WEB

Students and teachers are struggling like never before. They’re c0nstantly pursuing tough standards and pushing themselves to be better. They’re consumed by tasks and sometimes lost in the wheels of academia. Some come from homes where there is no support, love, or hope for the future. The schools are a mission field. It doesn’t matter the setting – public schools, charter schools, private schools, Christian schools, home schooling – education needs the help and prayer support of the Body of Christ.

Waterbrook will be hosting our annual Back-T0-School Sunday on August 24, 2014. Our morning services will feature a special time of congregational prayer and commissioning of students and teachers as they prepare to begin the school year. Our guest speaker this year will be Wylie ISD Superintendant Dr. David Vinson. He will share with us the call of Christians to local schools and education. We’ll even be sharing some opportunities for Waterbrook attenders to have an impact on students during the 2014-15 school year.

After the services a list of local schools will be posted in the lobby. The church family will again this year be encouraged to go to one of the local campuses and pray for students and staff who will be reporting the next day for classes. This prayer is done by individuals and families before lunch.

Please join us in supporting our schools on this special Sunday.
