Leadership Development Opportunities
Everyone leads in some capacity – at home, work, church, school, neighborhood, and in informal relationships. Our Leadership Development Classes were created to help men and women grow as leaders within whatever context they lead.
Leadership training takes place in a variety of settings. One such setting is the Leadership Mentoring Group led by Pastor Jeff Denton. This group commits for a year of side-by-side training with our lead pastor. The requirements are huge and participants must commit to a set of spiritual disciplines, read a list of assigned books during the year for discussion, and meet with Pastor Jeff twice each month for Bible study and leadership discussions. Each participant must be serve within the ministries of Waterbrook and commit to this mentoring program for one year.
An Open Leadership Seminar is led by Waterbrook pastors Stephen Bramer and Jeff Denton as sessions are scheduled. Character issues, leadership skills, theology of leadership, and current/developing trends are covered in these classes. Books, articles and other resources are used to prepare and initiate discussion. Contact the church office if you’d like to be involved in the next session of our Leadership Development Seminar.
Leadership discussions take place at the monthly Elder-Staff Council meetings when Pastor Jeff leads these leaders in a discussion based on a leadership issue, distinctive of Waterbrook or biblical principle.
Other leadership training opportunities are presented in various settings like discussion groups or movie nights with Pastor Jeff. Pastor Don Moore does leadership training with children’s ministry leaders and worship team participants. Specific training for our high school students occurs as they prepare for their summer mission outreach program each year.
Contact the church office or one of the teaching pastors for more information or to sign up for leadership training opportunities.
