Stan Johnson Mission Fund

 

 

PURPOSE

Stan Johnson spent his life reaching out to people with the Gospel message. Whether in a local business or in Jamaican school, Stan shared the love of Christ with everyone he encountered. The Stan Johnson Missions Fund was established for the purpose of continuing to reach people for Christ.

 

GOVERNING OF POLICY

The Stan Johnson Missions Fund is established by the authority of the Elder Council as an ongoing fund to which anyone may give. Donations and disbursements to this fund must comply with the Waterbrook Financial Policy Manual.

 

Distribution of the money within this fund are under the authority and ultimate discretion of the Elder Council. As with other mission‐directed funds at Waterbrook, the Elder Council asks the Missions Committee and Missions Pastor to manage this fund on their behalf.

 

PROCEDURES

a. Individuals may apply for assistance for their short‐term mission trips.

b. Requests must include a written description of their trip and the type of work in which they’ll participate on the trip. It must include the total cost of the mission trip and explanation of what portion is/will be covered by the missionary through other sources (themselves, fundraising, etc.).

c. The Mission Committee, or designated sub‐committee, will review requests and decide on disbursement of funds based on demonstrated need, available money in the fund, missions emphasis of the trip, and other pertinent details.

d. A member of the Stan Johnson family will be involved with the decision making process when possible.

e. Any sponsored missionary, by accepting a gift from this fund, agrees to submit a follow up written report on their trip within thirty days of their return. This report will be forwarded to the Johnson family as an ongoing encouragement regarding the legacy of Stan Johnson.
