BIG Changes this Fall at Waterbrook. TWO SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICES Begins September 11, 2011!

Waterbrook has seen some amazing changes in the last few months! God is at work, and you may be surprised at some of the details. Did you know we’ve had over 200 visitors since moving into our new building January 30, 2011? Of those visitors, approximately 35% are family and friends who’ve come to support and encourage us. This includes out of town guests and other friends who already have church homes. Another 27% of those guests have been to a Newcomer’s Lunch. Of those who’ve attended the Newcomer’s Lunch, 91% have stayed at Waterbrook and now indicate us as their church home. (Welcome friends!) And 40% of those folks have already attended a Membership Discovery Class. The bottom line is that if everyone who’s been indicating Waterbrook as their church home on the information cards were to show up on one Sunday, we’d have over 300 people!

Those are the encouraging and startling statistics the staff and elder council have been discussing in recent weeks. It’s also a game-changer as we make plans for ministry this fall. Who are we reaching? Are people getting connected to deeper relationships with God and with one another? Are we providing the right ministry efforts to connect with those who consider Waterbrook their church home? It also led to a prayerful, but clear deduction – we need to provide TWO WORSHIP SERVICES THIS FALL.
That decision alone launches a whole other series of questions. What does this mean about children’s ministries, teen groups, adult classes, volunteer worker needs, Home Teams, men’s ministry…and much more.

I’m thrilled to let you know we’ve already decided to have the two services beginning September 11, 2011.

However, nothing else is firm beyond that decision. We’re praying and discussing all other implications. But, we also know this fall will bring new Home Teams, a new monthly men’s ministry, and a sermon series I’m preparing on being connected in the body of Christ. There’s much more to be decided, and many of you will be involved in some of those decisions. Above all, our leadership team needs your prayer support as we work this summer on the details of the changes that lie ahead! Please plan now to join us for an important prayer meeting at which we’ll be praying for all these changes on Sunday evening, August 14th at 6:00 pm.

We’re thankful for all who call Waterbrook their church home! And even more thrilled for all who people everywhere who are part of the larger Body of Christ!
