Shaving Cream and Worship

After two outdoor (and very hot for the first time this summer) service projects, students got the chance to cool off and compete in the Shaving Cream and Water Gun War. We passed out over 30 containers of shaving cream and each student had their water gun of choice to do battle with. Once the bell sounded it was game on! The choice was up to each person whether they felt like running away to avoid danger or go head-on into attack mode. I chose to run and as you can see above it didn’t go to well for me. This was a great way to relax and have some fun after a great day of serving.

After students cleaned up and ate dinner, we moved to the Chapel to have worship. Now let me brag on our (and many of your) students. These guys and girls know how to worship. Their energy and passion is contagious. Whether it is the guys leading up front or the student on the back row, they make you want to worship God just by watching them do it! It is really a joy to experience worship with students who do it passionately like our students.

The message for Monday was about God’s call for us to be peacemakers (Matthew 5:9). We will in a world that is built around getting even, but that isn’t what God desires from us. He gave us the perfect example we are to follow in Jesus. Holding grudges and working towards revenge is in our nature, but God calls us to bring peace, even when it is tough to do so.

Thank you for all of the prayers and messages you’ve been sending our way. The students have really enjoyed hearing the words of encouragement about the things they are doing. We appreciate the prayers for God’s work to be done through us this week and we hope you keep the messages and prayers coming throughout the week!
