Waterbrook Student Ministry seeks to create a safe and fun place for students to learn about the grace of God and the way it changes our lives. We want to live out God’s grace by loving and serving others in our community and the world around us! We also want to disciple students and help them to make their faith their own before the graduate. We do all of these things through a variety of events. If you want to learn more about our purpose in our ministry, click here (coming soon). More information about what we do can be found below…
Rush (High School Ministry)
Rush is our ministry for high school students (9th-12th grades). They meet Sunday mornings during the 10:55am session in the 200 Building – Green Room. Sunday mornings are taught by Thomas & Brittany Williams and they lead discussion, prayer and Bible study that make up the Sunday morning class. Rush students just completed a year long study on Proverbs and are now working through a new series that will help students learn how to share their faith.
Each summer, high school students have the opportunity to participate in Mission:Rush. This summer, the week long mission trip will challenge students as we will be doing construction missions in San Augustine, Texas. During the week students will be involved in a various teams that will be doing a variety of construction projects throughout the city. To learn more about Mission:Rush and to register, click here.
Rush students are also involved in the other Student Ministry activities. You can view those below.
WAVE (JR HIGH MINISTRY)
Wave is our ministry for middle school students (7th-8th grades). They meet on Sunday mornings during the 9:30am session in the 200 Building – Blue Room. Sunday mornings are taught by Alan Greenwood and Christian Taylor. Each Sunday, the leaders use a mixture of games, skits and of course candy to help apply the Bible study to students lives.

Swell (preteen MINISTRY)
The Swell is our ministry for preteen students (5th-6th grades). They meet on Sunday mornings during the 9:30am session in the 200 Building – Blue Room with middle school students. Sunday mornings are taught by Alan Greenwood and Christian Taylor.
Rush – 10:55am in the Green Room – 200 Building
Wave & Swell – 9:30am in the Blue Room – 200 Building
Each Sunday, students gather in their groups to dive deeper into the Bible in fun and creative ways. On a typical Sunday, Wave students can be found playing goofy games and acting out skits to help bring alive the Bible story and application. Rush students will often be deeply engaged in challenging small groups and expository Bible studies.
Join us for worship, games and Bible study as we have a great time diving into God’s Word. Wednesday nights would be a great time to invite your friends to church because of the laid back and fun atmosphere. Each week we play games, are lead in worship by our Oasis band and dive head first into the Bible learning how it applies to teenagers on a daily basis.
Each Summer, the schedule ramps up to include a variety of activities for all Waterbrook students. From the annual Redneck Games to Tough Topics to Backyard Oasis, there is always something happening for students! Our 2018 Summer Calendar will be released the week after Spring Break, so check back then to find all of the dates and activities for students! BUT, if you can’t wait that long, registration is going on now for several events including: Mission Wylie, Super Summer and Mission:Rush. You can register for each event by clicking the event name.
