Welcome to Waterbrook Bible Fellowship!

Thanks for stopping by to check us out …

We are a group of ordinary people from all walks of life who are united in one thing…we are here to draw closer to God. Take a few moments to explore the pages of this web site to find out more about our people, our ministries, and our beliefs.  What follows are the answers to a few of the common questions you might have as a visitor to our site.

When and where do you meet?

Our services are held 507 Thomas Street Wylie, TX 75098.
We meet on Sunday mornings at 9:30 and 10:55. We offer various classes, fellowship groups, and children’s Sunday School during each of our worship services. We have something for all ages.

Worship services meet in our 100 Building (main building). Nursery, preschool and Splash (elementary classes) also are in the 100 Building. Adult and teen classes meet in our 507 Ministry Center located next door to the main building. Begin your visit at the information counter in the 100 Building and you’ll find people there to welcome you and show you around.

What should I expect on my first visit?

We want you to feel at home! The dress ranges from business casual to very relaxed. We have an awesome praise band and worship experience that is considered adult contemporary. Our messages are based on the truth from God’s Word – the Bible. Our goal is to provide answers from God’s truth that are relevant to everyday life.
When you arrive you’ll be greeted by a friendly face at the door. We encourage you to say hi and get to know our greeters…they love people and are genuinely glad to see you each week. As you come into the building, you will see our Information Desk. This is where you can pick up literature about Waterbrook and ask questions of the host or hostess. On the right side of the lobby is our auditorium where worship services meet. Straight down the main hall are our security checkpoints where young children are checked-in to nursery, preschool or Splash rooms. All children must be checked-in through our computerized security system. This helps us make sure every child is safe in our ministry and guarantees they are only picked up from their class by the person who dropped them off. You’ll find fresh coffee waiting for you just off the entry lobby each Sunday morning. Help yourself to a cup as to head to whatever class or worship service you’ll be attending. Wi-Fi is available Sunday mornings in our buildings for access to online sermon notes and Bibles during classes and worship services. Our sermon notes are accessible via www.YouVersion.com. Search using your current location or our zip code (75098) and you should be able to find an order of service (like an online church bulletin and the sermon notes). Some classes (adult and teen) meet next door in the 507 Ministry Center building. This is also where our offices are located. Ask a greeter, information desk hostess or usher for assistance and we’ll be glad to walk you to any class we have in either building. Our hope is that when you arrive, you will find this family of faith a place where you can worship freely, relate authentically and grow spiritually.

What programs do you have for my kids?

We have children’s classes available during both worship sessions – 9:30 and 10:55. All children’s ministry workers are trained and screened, including a background check, prior to being certified to work in classrooms with children. Younger children (birth through elementary school) must be checked in and out through our computerized KidCheck system. This keeps children safe and secure while at Waterbrook. A member of our security team is always available at the computer stations to assist during check-in and -out.
Our Nursery and Preschool classes are available for children up until school age. These classes include play, lesson and snacks. Elementary-age children (K-5th grades) are in an amazing program called SPLASH! Splash is a fun time for students to sing, learn Bible lessons, apply what they’ve learned, make crafts and have snacks in a program specifically designed for them. Splash meets during both sessions on Sunday mornings with different programming and teachers for each hour.
Our Middle School students (grades 6-8) are in the WAVE, and a High School students attend the RUSH. Both these classes meet during the 10:55 session in the 507 Ministry Center. WAVE students meet twice a month for fun activities outside of Sunday mornings (one Wednesday night and one Sunday afternoon per month). The RUSH ministry also meets Wednesday nights at 7:00 pm in the 100 Building for games and Bible study. (Except for the last Wednesday of each month.)
Children are important to us at Waterbrook because children are important to God!

Can you tell me something about the church leadership?

Waterbrook is committed to team leadership, and we have a wonderful group of pastors and lay leaders who see to the “big picture” and daily ministry operations.  Jeff Denton is our Lead Pastor. He and his family moved here in 2008 after nearly 20 years of ministry in Illinois.  Jeff, Don Moore and Stephen Bramer are our pastoral team.  Don Moore serves as our Pastor of Worship, Missions and Children where his passion for music, his heart for God and his love and desire to see spiritual growth in others provide the perfect God-given mix for his role at Waterbrook.  Stephen Bramer’s other job – Professor of Bible Exposition and Chair of the Department of Bible Exposition at Dallas Theological Seminary - gives you a clue as to how he is equipped for his role as Teaching Pastor at Waterbrook.  Most Sundays, you can expect to see Don leading our worship team, and either Jeff or Stephen teaching from the Word in our worship service. Our pastors serve on the Elder-Staff Council with a gifted group of leaders who help oversee the health and direction of our church family. Additionally, there are many other men and women who serve publicly and behind-the-scenes to help make Waterbrook the God-honoring, loving environment we believe the New Testament church should be.
