Weekend Workdays @ Waterbrook

Exciting stuff happening at Waterbrook this weekend….

TONIGHT (Friday, Jan. 14) – Painters are needed to wrap up the first round of painting. We need to finish it tonight so the final coat of paint can go on tomorrow. James Hunter & Jesse Chapa are touching up hallway spots this afternoon, but workers are needed TONIGHT @ 5:30 pm to put the final prep coat on the lobby walls. Can you come?

TOMORROW (Saturday, Jan. 15) – MAJOR Work Day at the 507 site. All hands on deck for a day of cleaning. This cleaning is important as we move into the final stage of work on the building. We need to get all the construction debris cleared and get the building ready for the “next to last” touches. [You’ll probably hear me mentioning final touches next week.]  We’re also going to try and move brick from the parking lot to the tennis courts. Kids are welcome for this job and should bring gloves. The Saturday workday begins at 9:00 am and is estimated to go to noon. Building Team member James Smith is leader of tomorrow’s workday.

SUNDAY (Jan. 16) – We have our final MEMBERSHIP CLASS before our move to the new location. If you’ve been waiting to become a member, this would be the time if you want to be able to say, “I was a member of Waterbrook when we made the move.” Pastor Stephen Bramer will be leading this two-week class starting this Sunday in the hallway.  Also, there’s an important TRAINING MEETING @ 9:30 am in the auditorium at Dodd for anyone who has anything to do with kids at Waterbrook. This means Splash, nursery, preschool, security, summer Riptide in the park – anything related to kids. It’s also important for parents/grandparents to be at this meeting. Anyone who signed up to volunteer at the information desk or as a connecting host in the new building should also come hear about the changes to Children’s Ministry at this training meeting.  Then, our WORSHIP service will be focused on WORSHIP at 10:45 am. Pastor Don Moore will be sharing with us about what will not change about our commitment to worship as we move to the new location in this next sermon in the series “Change Ahead.”

Finally, we’re just over 2 weeks away from the potential move into our new building. That evening is our first ANNUAL MEETING on the 507 property and I hope you’ll plan on being at that meeting. We’re be having a potluck dinner together, followed by the congregational business meeting. It’ll be a fun night to be together celebrating all God has done and is doing at (and through) Waterbrook. More details about this meeting are available at the church website, including downloadable documents to read in advance of the meeting. This includes the proposed 2011 budget and some bylaw changes. Thanks you for all your help and support as we work so hard to get into the building this month. As we approach the finish line we know it’s going to be close! With your help and God’s grace we’ll be worshiping in our own house very soon!

Stay Warm & See You at the Workday,
