Missions Weekend: Saturday Movie Night & Sunday Guest Speaker, Feb.26-27

Updated: Mar 8, 2022

MOVIE NIGHT: SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 6:30 PM

Our Missions Team is hosting a Movie Night as part of our Missions Weekend. The movie will be on Saturday, February 26th at 6:30 pm. We'll be showing Free Burma Rangers.

Popcorn and soda floats will be served by the Mission Team. A couple of missionaries will put the film into context with their own stories before and after the movie showing.

Free Burma Rangers is a documentary film exploring the extraordinary 20-year journey of missionaries Dave and Karen Eubank. The film follows Dave, Karen, and their three young children, as they venture into war zones where they are fighting to bring hope.

The film is a real life adventure movie. Viewers will follow the family into firefights, heroic rescues, and experience life-changing ministry. In the midst of this unprecedented journey, you will witness amazing lessons of faith from one of the most inspiring families in the world.

GUEST SPEAKER: SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICES, FEBRUARY 27 - 9:30 / 11:00 AM

We're pleased to welcome Dr. Barry Rempel as our mission weekend speaker for 2022. He will be speaking in our Sunday morning worship services, and as part of our movie night.

Dr. Barry Rempel serves on the international leadership team of SEND International, a mission agency with ministry in 20 countries. As Director of Global Collaboration, Barry works together with ministry partners from around the world to train and send new missionaries who will plant churches among unreached people groups.

Since 1987, Barry & Ruth (Pastor Stephen Bramer’s sister) have served in church planting, training, and leadership development in Spain, Alaska and Mexico. Now based in South Carolina, ministry efforts take them around the world as their heart beats for God to transform lives and see churches established.

Their two daughters were born in Spain and are now married adults. Katya & Matt live in North Carolina, and Savanna & Joe in California. Whether grilling, riding a motorcycle or traveling, Barry & Ruth love spending time with people.

GUEST MISSIONARIES: SUNDAY MORNING CLASSES, FEBRUARY 27 - 9:30 / 11:00 AM

Some of our Waterbrook missions staff will be with us in person for this weekend. They will be sharing in Sunday morning Adult Bible Classes and teen/student/children's classes. This will give them an opportunity to share details of their ministry in smaller group settings.
