Worship Pastor
 

JOB DESCRIPTION

I. Objective

The Worship Pastor oversees the worship ministries of Waterbrook Bible Fellowship. This role involves the public leading of worship for the weekly worship services for Waterbrook. It includes leading in creative ways to encourage worship experiences in all media formats.

     

The purpose is to lead the Worship Ministry at Waterbrook Bible Fellowship in the pursuit of glorifying God by providing spirit empowered, biblically based, culturally relevant worship experiences that edify believers and draw in spiritual seekers.

 

This includes a weekly Sunday worship and rehearsals for the Waterbrook body.

II. Primary Responsibilities

  1. Lead people to worship Jesus Christ by example personally and in public settings.

  2. Planning of weekly worship services and all associated teams needed for services.

  3. Oversee all aspects of the worship services for Sundays and other special events.

  4. Lead the worship service at least 80% of the time. But also, mentor and disciple others to lead in worship settings.

  5. Initiate and oversee worship related special events.

  6. Recruit and mentor others to lead worship.

  7. Coordinate with AV ministries and associated programming and technology.

  8. Provide outlets for people to use their gifts and talents in worship.

  9. Provide oversight to all worship support teams including programming, sound, drama, lighting, art, graphics, décor.

  10. Plan, coordinate and evaluate services with the assistance of others and as part of the Worship and Preaching Leadership team.

  11. Oversee baptism and communion events for planning and implementation.

  12. Responsible for the general oversight and approval of budgeted expenditures from the ministry budgets listed under his leadership. This includes worship and tech ministries.

  13. Participate in annual leadership planning retreat event.

  14. Attend staff meetings. And elder council meetings as requested.

  15. Work as a member of the pastoral team in shepherding the members of Waterbrook Bible Fellowship.

 
III. Specific Oversight in the Following Ministry Areas

  1. Weekly worship services and special worship events.

  2. Tech ministries, including streaming, digital network programming, and AV booth.

IV. Qualifications and Giftedness

  1. Member of WBF and supportive of the mission, vision, and distinctives of the church

  2. Leadership skills

  3. Has and can cast vision for ministries and ministry involvement of individuals and families at Waterbrook.

  4. Self starter

  5. Ability to work within a team ministry framework

  6. Desire to develop people spiritually and organizationally

  7. Seeks opportunities for spiritual and professional development

 
V. Working Relationships

  1. Meet weekly with Pastoral Teaching Team for service planning (weekly and long term).

  2. Member of the full staff pastoral team. This includes attending full staff meetings for prayer and ministry updates. The scope of involvement in those meetings shall be determined by the lead pastor.

  3. Reports directly to the lead pastor and under the leadership of the elder council.
